Jim – that’s really frustrating. I agree it’s not right to be accused of something and not getting to hear what that something is. Seems our US constitution has a bit to say about that. Anyway, I’m really happy to hear you fought them and got it retracted. It’s the best any of us can do for now.

After 10years and over 14000 fb 99.9% pos eBay dropped an auction based on VERO infringement. eBay would not answer any questions and kept sending “scripted” replies directing me back to the company who accused me. However eBay was quick to to mark my “policy violations” on the dashboard from Good down to Poor (skipping fair). In my opinion I had not violated eBay policies, I was being accused by a 3rd party outside of eBay. Because eBay penalized me they were now also my accuser and thus by law were required to tell me what I was being accused of. ( It burns me having to use the legal angle in order to get anywhere!) eBay did inform me that I was selling a knock of according to the 3rd party (VERO member). After traveling 2 hrs with my FLIP VIDEO (love this camera) in hand, I videoed the product at the vary company who accused me. Finally after a week or so and video backup the company removed their claim and apologized. eBay never apologized and removed the strikes against me. Long story short: If you’re a reputable seller, both eBay and VERO participants should work with you before jumping to conclusions when there are questions regarding a listing! ARE WE NOT WORKING TOGETHER! Sorry about the run on, I could have wrote a novel after this experience. Thank You

You know, until you wrote this – I was going to drop it. Just figure whatever, because I’ve NEVER been able to make headway but since you are fighting, I think I will do. I’ll do a blog post on my issue tomorrow and keep you updated!

Kat – that is crazy! It goes to show you how misguided the department is. What makes this whole mess worse, is the departments lack of accountabilty or transparnency. When you asked how you were shut down because of the ABPR act – did they tell you or did you get one of those wonderful emails that says “we don’t know and even if we did, we wouldn’t tell you.” Thanks for sharing. you want stories! I’ve been selling METAL Brand new Wind spinners on eBay for over 2 years.One is a classic ‘end of the trail’ design. It was ended today on ebay for violating their native american ARTIFACTS rule (Listings of artifacts, grave-related items, and Native American crafts that are protected under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act are not permitted on eBay. Listings of cave formations that are protected by the Federal Cave Resources Protection Act of 1988 are also not permitted. ) Good Grief, what happened to common sense. I guess the eBay method is to identify your biggest competitors and spend several hours per day tying them up in knots turning them in for bogus VERO claims????? this is Moronic!
