Friday Review

The View From Our Table at Ivars

The View From Our Table at Ivars

I read Havi Brooks blog The Fluent Self. I enjoy her blogging techniques. She often reminds her readers how to  get out of our own way (destuckifyed), and allow the energy to flow into our work. Her duck helps too :)

Well, the truth is, I try to read her blog as much as possible, but being time and attention deprived I often skim her daily posts – that is, until Friday. She has a wonderful tradition called the “Friday Check-in” - I always take the time to go over it. I love reading the weekly round-up. It’s become my Friday night tradition.

Which got me to thinkin….  maybe my readers would like to hear more about my week – well, maybe, more about what a week in Internet business owners life looks like. So, here goes. I’m going to start the Web Sellers Circle Friday Review.

 here we go

Sunday – Networking…. grrrr….  not one of my better skills, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to return to live networking. I want to meet new contacts, possible partners and build my online business. Seems like a contradiction…..

With that goal in mind,  I joined biznick. I went to my first ‘meet and greet’ on Sunday. We had brunch at Ivars  (a local chain) and watched the ferry come and go – beautiful! See photo :)    I think as I get older, networking is easier – I really am terrible at small talk though. But, we were a small group, about 8 of us and the company turned out to be wonderful. It was relaxing and, fun – I’ll be going back :)

Janelle Elms from OSI Rockstars and I did a class on Amazon Fufillment (FBA)- I always enjoy working with Janelle, she’s so bright and has such good energy. She makes her guests feel at home, and relaxed. I think is was a great class and we’ll post it in the members area of websellers circle soon if you’d like to see it.

This morning I interviewed Mark Dorsey from bonanzle.com – wow, what an amazing site. I tell you, listening to him describe the site made me think my first love (eBay) really missed the boat on a lot of things, and this upstart is gonna give them a run for the money. I’m excited to say the websellers circle now has a booth  – it will be fun to watch as they grow. and to be part of it. We’ll get Marks interview into the members area ASAP as well.

Amazon, Bonanzle and Photoshop classes online – kept me too busy to work on my taxes … a big worry…. as I now have only a week to get to them. I’ve been putting them off because I can’t think about the Washington State’s new destination based sales tax…. all that extra paperwork for so little income.

January is always a busy time and this week certainly reflected that…. gotta go, Dany and I need to do a run through for our last PhotoShop class tomorrow. Hopefully, by the next check-in I’ll have my taxes tackled (say that ten times fast).
